NICKNAMES Hipster fish, prince of hope, CA.
AGE 8 ½ sweeps .
OCCUPATION Eridan considers himself to be a man of many skills, it goes as far as him taking pride in the mere idea of being a man of many skills. Yet in reality he only has a few qualities that make him useful in this zombie apocalypse. Eridan does what he always has been doing, hunting. His usual pray of lusii has now, mostly, been replaced by zombies. He's stubborn about it though, which makes working with him something of a difficult task.

THE LOOKS.
LOOK UP IDIOT IN THE DICTIONARY.

LOOK UP IDIOT IN THE DICTIONARY.
YOU KNOWW WWHAT YOU'LL FIND?
As to be expected from a troll, Eridan's hair is jet black. Slicked back with the ends stubbornly standing up, he decided to keep it like that, slick at the front and peaked up at the end. He'd have a pretty normal appearance if it stopped at that, but of course it doesn't. Eridan has a streak of purple running in the middle, starting from his hairline, randomly stopping somewhere just past the middle. Whether he bleached and dyed it or he was born with it like that is unknown. He'll never let you know.
FACE
The shape of his face is easiest described as oval. Almost everything about it is soft,, especially so at first glance, even his jaw line. The two things that, aside from the fins, stand out most are the small cleft in his chin, and his sharp nose. His yellow eyes are narrow, more so due to the fact he glares, with noticeable bags around them. The furrowed brows above them seem to be plucked a bit to make sure they're not too thick, but they're certainly not thin either. His lips are smooth and full, not to girly for a man of course but just right. And behind these lips a set of razor sharp teeth hides themselves, in near perfect condition.
BODY
For a troll his age, he seems to be taller than average, but only just so. In fact, everything about his body is just average for a troll his age. Eridan is of a normal weight, slowly starting to lean to a more chubby side. The lack of swimming hasn't done him any favours. His arms are thin with little muscle showing, but do not let this fool you, he's strong enough to put up a good fist fight if he ever has to. Proportion wise, his legs are longer than his upper body is.
STYLE
Eridan's style has been pretty consistent over the years. It's flamboyant as hell. He wears a pair of thick rimmed glasses that, believe it or not, he does actually need to see, for the distance if nothing else. The rest of his attire consists of a dark blue/blue stripped scarf which is loosely around his neck. A long sleeved black shirt with the Aquarius sign printed on it. A set of blue and black stripped pants. The oddest shoes you'll ever see that look like they could have been stolen from a bowling alley, and to top it all off, he wears a big purple cape that's longer than he himself is.
ANYTHING ELSE Eridan wears a ton of rings on both hands which he never seems to take off. And regarding his freakishly long cape; this item of clothing might disappear if he feels it would slow him down.[/SIZE]

I INVENTED DICE WWHEN I WWAS A KID.
WWHAT DO YOU DO?
♛ Hunting The thrill of the hunt might be more important to Eridan these days than the reason for why he does it.
♛The crosshair This item is positively the reason for Eridan's love to hunt. The precision, the power, even the light it emits when it fires. It all has something about it that fascinates the young troll every time he uses it. There's still so much to be learned about it.
♛The empress to be Oh yes, Feferi most defiantly belongs on this list. Eridan and her had known each other as kids and she has always left a strong impression on him. It seems she barely recognizes him anymore these days, but Eridan still often thinks of her.
♛ Magic Ever since he had been young, he has had this fascination with this fictional happening. He knows it's fake,
♛ Science Just as fascinating as magic, only real, and deadly when applied right.
♛ Himself Eridan holds himself quite high. With a ego his size how could he not like himself as much as he do?
♛ Stories of conquest He grew up with them and they have been a source of great inspiration to him. They're more of a guideline he follows now on how to do things.
♛ Company He isn't very sociable, at all, but it wouldn't kill to have some company. Eridan feels alone a lot which actually isn't much of a surprise due to his attitude. No one would want to get too close and suffer from his overly dramatic speeches. Still, he sometimes tries to reach out to others in one way or another and enjoy being around others.
DISLIKES
♟ Being ridiculed When you express your opinions so openly as Eridan often does, you are bound to get shit for it. It was funny the first time (not really), but now it's nothing more than annoying. You do not make fun of his opinions, his speech or his style, ever!
♟Land-dwellers Or low-bloods if you prefer, it's all the same when they don't have gills anyway.
♟ Swimming Eridan can swim perfectly fine. Heck, he's pretty good at it! But the sea had nothing to offer him other than soaking him to the bone and ruin his style. He is fine with just being surrounded by it, thank you very much.
♟ Smart-asses Eridan is the smart-ass, it is him. No, really though, don't think you can be smart with him, he does not appreciate it, and he'll make you know.
♟ Rejection Rejection always seems to turn into hinting at other quadrants as far as he's concerned. The guy's just clingy on this, for him, touchy subject. He's not stupid though, he knows when he's rejected, it happens far too often.
♟ Getting cheated out of things It's not done. Eridan likes to be involved and when he is, he likes to take home a little price. He had had people cheat him out of the things he claimed as his own, be it items or victories. It's not easy to cheat him out of anything since he can be protective and clingy over what he considers rightfully his, but on that rare occasion when it does happen...
♟ Being ignored Eridan loves attention. He craves to get attention, and he certainly adores being in the spotlight. Usually he ends up with only one other person who bothers to listen, but that's still something. What he absolutely can't stand is to be ignored when there's people around and he tried to make contact.
♟ His pitiful behavior He doesn't act like he's aware of his obnoxiously dramatic and egoistic behavior. He wouldn't want to give in to the knowledge, no matter how many times he screws up his tough act royaly. What he hates more than knowing how he acts, is pitying himself for it. He always does so, and pretty openly too to get some sympathy. It's pathetic, he should be above this. Some things will just never change.
HOBBIES
♞ Practicing
♞ Hunting Lusii.
♞ Plotting the demise of all land-dwellers.
♞ Reading stories about fearsome leaders, wars and conquest.
♞ FLARP, whenever he feels he can waste the time too. It's more or less the same as hunting however.
HABITS
♜ Speaks in a wwavvy accent. Can't help it.
♜ Tends to get over dramatic when things don't go his way.
♜ Bites his lip or nibbles on the rim of his scarf when he's starting to get anxious.
FEARS
♝ Ending up alone, as in completely alone with no back-up. It's odd, considering how others seem to love to abandon him. He just doesn't get used to it.
♝ Losing the crosshair. It has become his baby and his best friend. That thing has helped him trough a ton of zombies. To imagen he'd use something else just makes him uncertain about the entire sittuation.
♝Not being able to live up to his own expectations of himself.
♝Dying. He can't die, not this young, not without being known.

PERSONALITY
They tell you to never judge a book by its cover.
For as far it concerns Eridan, it seems that you can. The first impression you get from him is usually the right one. He comes off as a bit of a douche, who clearly thinks way to much of himself. And if you think this as well then you are most defiantly spot on. Because Eridan is a douche with a giant ego. Harsh, but true. Now now, I never said that's all that there is too him, but things, for most part, do not get a whole lot better. He's a cocky guy with a knack for acting dramatic. He's stubborn and clingy, and once he starts to whine you'll be barely able to shut him up.
This is what you'll get to see the most, and this is most probably also what others will tell you when you ask what kind of guy he is. Others see him as a joke. Nothing but something for them to laugh at. Eridan doesn't appreciate it much, but he has so little interest in changing to please some low-bloods, that he puts up with it. So, that brings us to the next point. Eridan has, and always has had, a superiority complex over those who did not and do carry the same noble blood. And in the years he spent among them, he grew to hate them more. It doesn't seem like he ever learned how to be tactful, and even if he does know how to be tactful, he sees no point in applying tactfulness.
Now that we have scratched the surface of his behavior, we can move in deeper.
Eridan isn't as bad as he seems to be, as long as he feels like playing 'nice' so to speak. The young troll can be very considerate and thoughtful of others, but this quality gets overshadowed by the need that urges him to constantly ask for attention. He is a pretty insecure guy, who loves to have his existence validated. Preferably by someone other than his lusus. A lot of people never seem to realize how he tries to do the best for others, when he attempts to make it known he looks out for them. Truth be told, he's not sure on how to handle such things and ties everything to his own needs in some way. He has trouble putting others before him, his needs always, and I mean always, come first.
But it's not all bad. Eridan posses a great deal of willpower and determination. Along with his stubborn streak, he's able to push trough with whatever it is he has sank his sharp teeth in. He stand by what he believes in and fights for his opinion. Surely a skill worth mentioning. Of course it has its ups and downs, but he knows it can proof handy when needed. He has a hunger for knowledge and a pretty curious personality to boot. It generally surprises others how knowledgeable he can be on some topics. He's a man of many talents is what he always says, and a man of many talents should know things about a lot of different topics. It is only natural.
All in all, he's pretty needy, especially in terms of attention. While's he's able to be on his best behavior when he absolutely needs to be, he still doesn't comprehend what it means to be, well, nice. Eridan doesn't have the patience for it if you're not playing according to his rules. Much like a child throwing a tantrum, Eridan would either pick a fight with you about it or try to talk you into feeling guilty by putting up his well known drama-queen acting. It's all he knows how to do. He might think he's doing you a favour with whining instead of straight out bitching, just that he's not.
Eridan has trouble adjusting to others and can't pick up on anything that might help him to act pleasant. He's just a insecure troll with a ego the size of a green sun. He likes to tell himself he's okay with it, when really he's not. But rather than to admit he's in the wrong, he would like to see others adjust to him.

HISTORY
Eridan's life started out like any other trolls, stuck in a heap of wrigglers from all walks of life, all tangled up in a bunch waiting to be picked by their soon to be luses. Many of them came and went, leaving only a handful of wriggles around. While some got instructed to go out to sea. Eridan was not, he didn't have to move there on his own strength while his fellow sea-dwellers did. Of course such a event only caused for the young troll to feel lonely, if not abandoned at that very moment. It was something that stuck with him. Much to his luck, he did not have to suffer from these feelings for too long, for his luses had finally come to pick him up. A great and noble sea horse. His luses had carried him out to sea, settling in a abandoned ship, crashed on a small patch of land that would from then on serve as their hive.
Eridan wasn't like most other sea-dwellers, he didn't swim. His luses had taught him well on the front of swimming of course, Eridan was rather good at it. He just hated it. There was something about the water that put him off. Once his luses and he had arrived at their new hive, the first thing the large seahorse had done, was nudge the purple wriggle towards the water. The small being was scared of what awaited him. The seas where dark and cold, something completely new and unwelcoming. The luses had left its wriggler no choice, taking a hold of the tiny being as he descended down into the water. For Eridan this was a terrifying experience. One he couldn't exactly fight. And he didn't. A troll from his descent should know how to swim, and should know how to hold himself under water. These things were a must to learn and master!
Being a sea-dweller meant a lot of things after all, and it wasn't just a sub-species you belonged to. Oh no, being a sea-dweller was a entirely different way of living. His luses would often tell him stories about the great and noble that came from the seas themselves. They all carried the same royal blood and contributed to their collective noble name. Eridan could not get enough of these stories, he loved to hear how he and his kind stood above those filthy low-bloods.
It wasn't long after that the stories turned into teachings. His young life was set around rules and regulations that had to be followed to the letter. All for a noble cause of course, but Eridan detested being pushed around so much. He knew he was better than everyone else, and he knew he could get away with just about anything when on land. Why exactly would he need all these teachings?
Once he had seen a point in them, but that was before he had learned certain things about his 'heritage'. Having been fascinated by the more violent side of the many stories he had been told, Eridan looked into more detailed stories. Documents that where kept on such individuals and events would find their way into his hands, one way or another. These stories of conquests and wars, among other things, had a great influence on the young troll, shaping his view on the outside world. But one especially ruthless and vicious troll always stood out to him, someone who Eridan has always felt a connection to despite having never met him. This man was his role model, and would continue to be so for years to come. To be as him was his goal. Eridan has always felt that this troll had set the standard for what a sea-dweller should be. Soon enough, those ideals would be his own.
And those ideals needed to be heard. Whenever he went out, Eridan would more or less preach about his findings, forcing his opinion on others and making his stance on matters known. He was one of those who valued not only their blood but their status as sea-dwellers. All else beside that didn't matter, and never would matter. Not if he could help it.
Despite spending so much time on land and among land-dwellers, he told himself he hated these trolls. These common blooded bastards who would never get a taste of the kind of life he led. It didn't stop him of getting to know some of them. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer is as they saying goes, isn't it? That was exactly what he did. These relations meant nothing of course, just a few ties here and there to make sure he would obtain whatever he needed. Eridan could not admit he began to care for those very few he knew, land-dwellers could never match up to him.
It was just one of the many things he had learned from not only his luses, but his documents as well. To get rid of all these land-dwellers was a growing passion which led him to meddle with different types of machinery. Using science to create devices to clear the world of these pest. To be honest, this was more or less a hobby for him. His priority went to something completely different.
At one point in time Feferi had come to him for help. He had always admired her for her position as empress to be, her charming personality and her beauty. He regretted not having had the opportunity of getting to know her better since their brief childhood together. That didn't mean that he had forgotten about her. Eridan had always had this thing for her, admiring her from afar. So when the moment came when she needed him, he eagerly accepted her request. All for for his own gain, for his desire to impress her and get closer to her. (perhaps even influencing her while he was at it too.)
At the same time, it contributed to his desire to be more like the man he so desperately looked up to.
Setting out to hunt for lusii with his own luses was just the start of things.
Such young age did make it impossible for the young sea-dweller to advance beyond the role he played now. His life consisted out of hunting for most part with the occasional FLARP session. Eridan soon grew bored of this never changing routine. He had to break out of it without abandoning his duty. Thanks to his bad luck with machinery he instead turned to roaming the seas more than ever, in the slight hope of reliving some adventures of the many pirates that once came before him to roam the sea. With some luck he could run into more lusii while he was at it. Exploring new areas for some fresh meat could never hurt a man.
What he found however, was far more than he could have ever hoped for.
There on the open seas was Dualscar's ship. The Dualscar's ship. A vessel so glorious, one that he had read and heard about for so many times, that he could recognize it from miles away. This was a opportunity to good to pass up on. Carefully, he brought his luses closer to the ship for inspection. It had seemed abandoned from the skies, but one could never be careful enough. His assumptions had been right. After he circled the ship to make sure it was safe, he got off to inspect it. It was a lot more glorious than he could have ever expected it to be. It exceeded his expectations completely. He knew many treasures awaited him there. As sad a sign a abandoned ship might be the grieving about the loss of a great captain could come later. Now it was his time to rise, he could feel it. Eridan kept this in mind while searching the ship. He had no need for trivial things like jewels and gold. He knew exactly what he was looking for. The infamous crosshair would be his.
Eridan had never hunted more than he did after that. This weapon was simply amazing, the precession of this glorious thing made everything else look like nothing but a boring old toy. He hunted for days on end, only taking a few breaks at his hive to indulge himself in his hobbies and to rest up for more hunting. The thrill of the hunt, especially with his new weapon, kept him going out for more. But there was only so much hunting you could do before you needed to seek out some supplies, any kind of supplies.
Had he checked before, Eridan might have known about the virus and it's effect. But he didn't, not until he set foot on land and approached a close by town. While most had been killed already, heads blown to smithereens, there where still zombies around. There was only so little around to inform him on what the hell was happening around him, but those few scraps of paper and scribbles on walls proved to be all he needed. He could enjoy this, he knew right then.
