NICKNAM-ES (The) Empress
AG-E Her appearance is that of a woman in her late twenties, but even she has forgotten how long she has lived
OCCUPATION Queen of Trolldom
ANYT)(ING -ELS-E A very different person from the canon Condesce.
Due to her lusus's power, the Empress is endowed with near-immortality, accompanied by rapid healing. She is never ill, and cannot be killed by any normal means; the only way to end her for good is to behead her, burn her corpse completely, and spread the ashes. Anyone who touches her, skin to skin, is granted this power as well as the conditions for death, although they cannot pass it to another the same way. In theory, should she be killed, the power would be revoked from any who received it, allowing the receiver(s) to live out the rest of their natural lifespan without any added benefits.

Her Majesty's hair is often the first thing that draws one's attention: her luscious mane reaches nearly to the floor, just far enough above it to keep from dragging, and it possesses a gentle wave reminiscent of the sea. A pair of lightly curving horns, each as long as one of her legs, sit atop her head.
FAC-E
The Empress's face is regal and timeless, her cheekbones high and delicate, skin flawless, lips just full enough. It has been widely regarded as a shame that the woman so rarely smiles; the “Condescension” segment of her title is often in full effect, her expression more often than not one of tired contempt. The light fuchsia bags under her eyes have grown a bit since the war began, but even they don't mar her features too much.
BODY
Though none would call the Empress fat, per se, she is fairly well-padded, built not unlike a Grecian statue or a woman from a Renaissance painting. Two pairs of delicate gills cut into her neck just beneath the jawline, as well as three larger sets along her ribcage and a thicker pair curving right above her hipbones.
STYL-E
Clothing is one of Her Majesty's few pleasures, and not a single piece of fabric she owns doesn't flow. While normally she wears colors to complement and suit her own blood, she does enjoy a somewhat brighter palette in private. A great deal of her attire is sheer in all the right places, covering everything that needs to be covered and veiling the rest enough to leave an onlooker wanting, but most importantly there is always a layer of fabric between the majority of her skin and the rest of the world, for to touch her is to be granted her lifespan.
ANYT)(ING -ELS-E
Every movement is composed and graceful, as well as relatively slow, and while one might think it's because she has all the time in the world, it's really due to the weight of her hair (and sometimes her clothing), not to mention having to make certain she doesn't catch her horns on anything. Tripping over her own skirts or getting tangled in an errant chandelier would be terribly undignified, after all. Her scent is that of the ocean, clean and cool.

i Food One of her favourite things to do is try new and exotic foods, and she has all the time and wealth to allow for this. She has a particular fondness for sweets and pastries.
i Clothing As Empress, appearance is particularly important when handling herself in public, but she has come to truly enjoy the act of dressing up in all the fancy dresses expected of her title. She is not terribly vain about her appearance, hanging more importance on feeling as lovely as she looks.
i Dancing All those flowing skirts must be set in motion somehow, and even the most choreographed, exacting dance fills her with a sense of freedom she can never seem to find elsewhere.
i Theatre She has never been to a cinema, so has no real opinion on such a form of storytelling, but theatre has been around for far longer, and she rarely misses a new show.
i Fish Whether to eat or to watch, their beautiful colours (and delicate flavours, when they are on her table) please her immensely.
i Philosophy Though she is set in her ways and her will is the law, other ways of thinking fascinate and entertain her quite a bit.
i Good conversation As difficult as it is to find, she enjoys the company of anyone who can hold their own in discourse, though even as long as she has lived folk such as that are difficult to find.
i Colours A more secret adoration of the Empress's, as one of her station must keep up appearances, is her fondness for bright and vibrant colours. She prefers them on fish scales or fabrics, however, rather than blood, unlike another who shares this fondness.
DISLIK-ES
i Lowbloods Perhaps they are fine people, and certainly they are hers, but they are so short-lived she doesn't dare allow herself to care much for them. Even if they did live longer, they couldn't dwell beneath the waves with her anyway.
i Her longevity Immortality, she has long since decided, is a curse. Her so-called gift is only granted by her as a punishment, often accompanied by a cold, dark cell where the offender's eternal screaming cannot be heard.
i Physical contact To touch her is to live forever, a thing she only wishes on her enemies. Even an accidental touch is unacceptable, and anyone who commits such an act is to be beheaded, the remains burned immediately.
i Pailing While her dislike of touch is a part of this, it is the thought of allowing someone close enough to her heart to wish to touch them in such a way that truly upsets her. It has been a long time since she contributed to the gene pool, but as she is the Empress she is exempt from being culled because of it. Her quadrants have been empty for thousands of sweeps.
i Watching another die Whether by her hand, by another's, or by age, she will not abide looking upon a life ending. It's only a reminder of that which is denied her; the loss is all the worse if she is fond of the deceased.
i Clocks There are no timepieces kept in her presence. The incessant ticking of an analog clock is maddening to her, and digital clocks for the most part don't fare well at the depths she lives in.
i Her hair and horns They're heavy and they get in the way. She has tried before to cut both, only to have them regrow in very little time.
i Humans They would have the potential to be interesting were they not so short-lived, but unlike lowbloods they are not her people, and she has come to view them as ugly weak little pests, too tenacious for their own good.
)(OBBI-ES
i Baking Though all of her meals are prepared for her, the Empress had a small kitchen installed off her quarters in secret long ago, and makes fanciful delicious confections when no one is around to notice...or share.
i Swimming Weightlessness is a glorious feeling, and she revels in it whenever she can – which with all her royal duties is surprisingly not terribly often.
)(ABITS
i Formal speech She uses the Royal We when she speaks, and not simply out of disdain: her lusus sees the world through her eyes, and to displease the Empress is to potentially displease the Emissary. Gl'bgolyb is the reason she lives and rules, and while in her deepest of collapsing and expanding bladder based aquatic vascular systems she would never order the Vast Glub, her people do not need to know this. She also avoids contractions and foul language.
i Tuning out Her Majesty may seem every bit the polite listener – appearances and all – but if she finds something dull such attention is an act. Too many things these days bore her, and this facade is growing more and more difficult to uphold. However, dismissing another simply because of their monotony is too rude for her to stomach, so she bears it with her usual dignity as best she can.
i
F-EARS
i Caring As much as she is accustomed to the inevitability of loss, the Empress fears allowing anything too close to her, be it an object, or worse yet a person – the thought of caring for something so much that she could not bear to lose it distresses her enough that she keeps even her own descendants at trident's length, both physically and emotionally. Even the highest-blooded seadwellers will die someday; she cannot afford to need them.
i Grand Highblood One of very few things she truly regrets is the fact that even she was powerless to stop the Highblood's ascent to his current position. The only reason, as far as she can tell, that she is still in any modicum of power is because he can't swim deep enough to get to her. She has allowed her immortality to be brushed off as insane longevity, but she knows that if he ever learned he could do anything to her and not have her die, not to mention touch her and share her lifespan, it would mean an eternity of more than one torture.
i What will happen after her death A strange thing, to desire something while at the same time fearing it. She quietly envies those capable of death, and is well and truly tired of existing, but she is aware that if her death were upon her she would be at least a little frightened – though she doubts that fear would outweigh her relief, at least for herself. Her fear, some would be surprised to learn, is more for her people: yes, she is aware of her own horrific negligence, but over all the time she has lived she has yet to find anyone capable of caring more.
