Dave.
He wasn't even that to her at first. turntechGodhead . That was it. Dave, came later. Trust apparently had to be gained before she got his name... He got hers that first day.
For the longest time he was just nothing more then red text on a screen. The ironic jokes, the sarcasm and the snark was all that made him who he was to her. Over time he turned into a person, actually opened up... Gave her advice that wasn't a joke that always went right over her head. Finally a real person started to form behind the red text . She got to see a picture, she finally had a face to put with the name. Years passed, she got others, she even got a webcam view of him every once and a while. Now he was a friend, one of the three most important people in her life. Yet. She still hadn't seen him without being warped by pixels of her screen. She hadn't hear a voice that wasn't filled with distortion from her ancient speakers. He had been the soul person who got her off her island and to the safe haven and she'd never even shaken his hand, let alone been in the same room as him... Fuck the same timezone either. But... That would finally changed.
There had been to much chaos when she'd first gotten there to find him, or any of her friends. Finally she'd been able to get a message through, and they'd planned to meet up in the Rec center. Simple, easy to find.
Sitting where she was waiting, she didn't know why she was so fucking nervous. She knew this boy almost as well as she knew herself, and yet the idea of him being right there, made her stomach seem to be unable to settle. She fiddled with her phone between her fingers, as one leg bounced off the groun anxiously. She even felt herself wondering if she'd recognize him. She felt like an idiot. Of course she would, she'd seen him many times... The internet wasn't going to change every feature about him just to fuck with her.
...Could it?
Sighing she leaned her head on the wall, closing her eyes. She had been early, but she didn't want to be late and miss him. Though now... He was more then late. Though, maybe she should expect it? She didn't know, this was the first time in her entire life that she'd ever met up with a “friend” before. First time for everything, right?
