MEDIUS OF THE PAST

For as long as the two races can remember they have always coexisted on the planet Medius. Perhaps it hadn't always been like that, perhaps one used to be an alien of sorts but that isn't the case nor the story of now.

The Humans and the Trolls have never really quite got along. They have never seen eye to eye, and while this used to spark war after war between the two races they eventually reached a sort of treaty. The Humans, with their almost uncountable numbers and the Trolls with their natural superior strength they could not out do one another. No matter how many wars had been waged the races were always left at a stand still. So, in an attempt to regroup, regain their numbers and an attempt at peace (or at least this is what the humans so naively wished) they separated. The races divided the world up equally between them. Not only did they for the most part stick to different parts of the world entirely, there were curfews. To the trolls with the romance of night, and to the Humans went the warmth of day. For the most part the races never saw one another. They were almost whimsical, imagined creatures. Life went on as normal for both of the races, and they were for the most part content.

However the Trolls were a more violent race, and it grinded on most of the highblood's nerves that the Medius was controlled by another race. Especially the race that for some reason they could not destroy like they had done to every other race they had encountered. Thus a virus was created. Obviously with the Humans close living quarters and highly populated areas a virus would be the easiest thing to knock them all out at once.

The virus did not do what they had intended. While the virus had been programmed to effect only Humans, it affected both Humans and Trolls. While the virus had been made to die after the carrier did it continued on. While the virus had been made to only kill, it brought the dead back to life. Had the revived dead not become mindless, cannibalistic, rotting corpses it would have been the greatest thing ever invented. Only it had, and now the Medius is a shadow of what it once was. Civilizations ruined, cities destroyed and peace a thing only seen in movies.

MEDIUS OF THE PRESENT

From no where, after what seemed like years of fighting the undead a man named only Doc. Scratch appeared and he did what seemed impossible. He created a safe haven for both the Trolls and the Humans. It's still not quite sure how he created such a place, nor how he made it so secure but he did. From the necessity of the situation for the most part the differences between the trolls and the humans were forgotten. Somewhat. They were now forced to live in close quarters and although the races put up with one another they dodn't much like it. However there was to be no dominating of power, not while Doc. Scratch had anything to say about it.

Recently though, the Doctor hasn't been around. In fact most haven't seen head nor tail of him. The missing presence of the Doctor has caused rumors and stirring in the allied encampment. Things are beginning to move once again. Though some vote for peace, to keep things the way they are others have already begun to change things. Most of the things that can be separated into Trolls and Humans have been and power struggles are beginning to arise.

With Doc. Scratch no longer leading them the two races have begun to feel a sort of self entitlement to the safe haven. They both work to control, using underhanded tactics against one another. Perhaps at an advantage to the humans, the trolls are fighting between themselves at the same time. Although all done behind the scenes the trolls following the Grand Highblood and those following the Sufferer are fighting.

Sides are chosen, the whispers of war bubbles all while the undead are clamoring for their next meal.
